BBC News: Cycling mums to tow toddlers 1,000km across Turkey
As seen on BBC News: our Turkey cycling adventure with two mums, two toddlers and two e-bikes.
The BBC feature introduces our plans to ride 1,000km through Turkey, carrying camping equipment and towing our children, Skyla and Leo. It explores how Tori Williams and I are adapting adventure to motherhood, from snacks and potty training to the physical demands of riding day after day.
For me, returning to a bicycle after my 2014 cycling accident, seven surgeries and life with chronic pain makes this journey particularly meaningful. For Tori, the fundraiser honours her mum Wendy, who died from leukaemia aged 39 when Tori was just ten.
We’re raising money for Leukaemia UK while showing that becoming a mum can open up a different kind of adventure.
