KMTV Invicta Sport: Two mums, two toddlers and a Turkey cycling adventure
As seen on KMTV’s Invicta Sport: I joined the team ahead of our Turkey cycling adventure, featured in the programme dated 19 October 2026. Two mums, two toddlers, two e-bikes and 25 days to find out how far we can get.

Having grown up in Tunbridge Wells, it’s lovely to share this next adventure with a Kent audience.
My friend Tori Williams and I are heading across Turkey with my daughter Skyla and her son Leo, aiming for more than 1,000 km and over 21,000 metres of climbing. We’ll have trailers, camping kit and a motorhome safety net, but no fully booked accommodation schedule or guaranteed daily distances. The route will adapt around our bodies, the roads and the toddlers.
For me, getting back on a bicycle for this adventure means a great deal. A cycling accident in 2014 led to seven surgeries, a reconstructed hip and ongoing chronic pain. Adventure helped me rebuild my life, taking me into extreme motorcycle racing. Now I’m adapting again to bring my daughter along.
“Motherhood doesn’t mean adventure has to stop. It just means adventure looks different.”
We’re raising money for Leukaemia UK in memory of Tori’s mum, Wendy, who died aged just 39, when Tori was ten and her little brother was nine. Now a mum herself, Tori is making memories with Leo while carrying her own mum’s adventurous spirit forward.

Thank you to Finn and the KMTV team for helping us share the story.
If you’re new here, I’m Vanessa Ruck, The Girl On A Bike — a motorcycle racer, adventurer, motivational speaker and mum living with chronic pain. Read about the cycling accident that started this journey and how adventure helped me rebuild my life.
Follow the adventure on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Commenting and sharing helps more people discover the fundraiser. For safety, our social updates will run roughly one week behind real time.
